2026 Retreat Theme
Unfurl into Your Wildest Shape
Proposal Overview
To participate in Camp Wildroot you must facilitate an activity with the retreat group. Your proposed activity could be in your area of experience, or you could take the opportunity to work with the group in a way that is new to you, taking a risk. A maximum of 10 people will be admitted to each session of the 2026 retreat, so a range of factors will determine which proposals are accepted.
Selection criteria:
- creative response to this year’s theme: Unfurl into Your Wildest Shape
- alignment with the Camp Wildroot greater vision of growing connection to nature and each other
- originality, intention to diversify offerings
- fit within the scope of our weekend schedule and effort to include a combination of short and long offerings and build in enough rest and reflection time
- physical needs of the offering and the capacity of the land and infrastructure to support them
Proposal Prompts and Ideas

If you need some help envisioning an activity or offering, consider the prompts and ideas below, but use these as jumping off points, not limitations!
First, consider the retreat theme: Unfurl into Your Wildest Shape. What does this mean to you? Consider your personal experience and the cultural context we find ourselves in. How can we rewild ourselves? What constrains us from doing so? Why is engaging our wildness important?
Also, consider the usefulness of “Summer Camp” for creative and visionary adults? Did you attend camp as a kid, or did you wish you had? What kind of activities did you participate in there, or imagine others were engaged in without you? Consider activities that can be done outside with minimal supplies? How can we engage with each other and the natural environment in playful and enriching ways?
Some possibilities: silly icebreaker games, craft projects, teach a song, morning movement, connective ritual, foraged snacks, collective napping, teach something, exquisite corpse poetry, guided meditation, skill-sharing, group art-making, storytelling…
What do you feel called to offer?
